Belmond trains embody the art of slow travel, where the journey itself becomes an essential part of the experience. Legendary rail routes, timeless luxury, fine dining and ever-changing landscapes create a distinctive rhythm of travel, offering a deeper connection with the culture and character of each destination. A pioneer of slow travel, Belmond has operated the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express since 1982 and continues to celebrate the tradition of luxury rail travel around the world.
Today, the Belmond collection comprises seven trains. In Europe, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express journeys between some of the continent’s most celebrated cities. In the United Kingdom, the collection includes three trains: British Pullman, Royal Scotsman and Britannic Explorer — the first luxury sleeper train in England and Wales. In Southeast Asia, Eastern & Oriental Express takes travellers through Singapore and Malaysia, while in Peru, Andean Explorer offers journeys through the Andes and Hiram Bingham travels to Machu Picchu.
